Plant Mirabilis Jalapa in well-drained, fertile soil that receives full sun for optimal growth. These plants thrive when given plenty of warmth and light. Begin planting in March, spacing the tubers around 5 cm (2 inches) apart and planting at a depth of 5 cm (2 inches).
