Gro-Sure® Shady Lawn Seed is specially formulated for areas that receive limited sunlight or are prone to drought. Ideal for sowing or repairing lawns around buildings, fences, trees, and bushes, this high-quality blend ensures strong, healthy growth even in challenging conditions. With a built-in bird deterrent dressing, it helps prevent seed loss and maintains its rich green colour throughout the season.

When to Use
Gro-Sure® Shady Lawn Seed can be sown from March to October when soil temperatures are between 10–18°C. For the best results, sow in spring (March–May) or autumn (September–October) when conditions are optimal for germination.
Where to Use
This lawn seed is ideal for:
- Existing lawns – for overseeding to improve thickness and colour
- Bare soil – to establish new lawns
- Patch repairs – for fixing thin or damaged areas
- Shady areas – around trees, fences, and buildings where grass struggles to grow
How to Use
Prepare the area by removing weeds, debris, and compacted soil. If sowing a new lawn or repairing patches, loosen the topsoil to a depth of 20–25cm and level it with a rake. For overseeding, mow the lawn closely and rake or scarify to open up the soil. Shake the box to mix the contents and apply evenly at a rate of 30g per square metre for new lawns and 25g per square metre for overseeding. Lightly rake to incorporate the seed into the soil and press down by walking over or rolling the area. Water thoroughly and keep the soil moist until germination, which usually occurs within 7–21 days.
