Where to Use
Algon is suitable for use on a variety of outdoor surfaces, including home and garden areas such as tarmac driveways, patio flags, decking, conservatories (glass or plastic), slate and felt roofs, painted and unpainted walls, wooden and stone garden furniture, sheds, fences, and plant pots. It is also effective on water features, including birdbaths and ornamental water elements, though care should be taken to minimize runoff into ponds. Public and sports areas such as artificial grass, all-weather tennis courts, hard play areas, access ramps, and car parks can also be cleaned with Algon. Additionally, it is safe for use in kennels, stables, and farmyards.
How to Use
If using the concentrated solution, dilute 1 part Algon with 3 parts water. Apply using a garden sprayer on the droplet setting, a soft broom, or a paintbrush to evenly wet the surface. A watering can may also be used, but this method can be wasteful. There is no need to scrub or rinse; simply apply and leave. The surface will begin to show results within a few days as it naturally regains its original colour. One 2.5L bottle covers approximately 60 square meters, depending on the surface’s absorbency.
When to Use
Algon can be used at any time of the year. For best results, apply to dry surfaces when no rain is expected. Avoid application during heavy rainfall, as excess water may dilute the solution before it has a chance to take effect.
Caution & Safety Information
Algon is non-toxic but may scorch foliage and grass where it makes direct contact. However, it will not harm roots or cause long-term damage to plants. It should not be used on marble, unfinished zinc, galvanized surfaces, or iron/steel surfaces. Lead may temporarily discolour. Spot-test coloured paving flags and jointing compounds before full application. When applying near ponds or water features, ensure runoff is kept to a minimum.
