The Tulipa Kaufmanniana is slightly fragrant and opens the same way a waterlily does. The petals are pointed and striking in bright yellow with bold red flames, making them a real highlight for early spring colour. Growing to a height of about 20–25 cm, they flower in March–April, bringing cheer to pots, borders and garden edges. These botanical tulips are particularly well suited to naturalising, returning year after year if left undisturbed in the soil.

Aftercare
Plant from September to December, 10 cm deep and 10 cm apart, in well-drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded position. Water well after planting. Allow foliage to die back naturally to nourish the bulbs for the following year. Leave in the ground for repeat flowering, or lift and store in a cool, dry place if replanting is desired.
