Westland Lawn Sand² is a traditional moss treatment designed to kill moss and promote a healthier, greener lawn. This product contains ferrous sulphate, which quickly kills moss, causing it to blacken and die. At the same time, the fertiliser in the mix feeds the grass, helping it to become thicker and lush. This treatment also enhances drainage in lawns growing on heavy soils, ensuring your lawn thrives. The 200m² bag is ideal for larger areas and ensures long-lasting results.
Why Use?
Westland Lawn Sand² is formulated to kill moss quickly and efficiently while feeding the grass to encourage a deeper green colour and a thicker, healthier lawn. It is particularly useful for lawns that have poor drainage, as it improves soil structure and allows water to pass through more easily. Ideal for established lawns, this treatment can be used up to two times a season to control moss and enhance lawn health.
When to Use
For the best results, apply Westland Lawn Sand² when moss is actively growing, typically from April to October. Avoid using during drought or freezing conditions, or when rain is imminent. Do not apply during windy weather to prevent product drift onto unwanted areas like patios, ponds, or plants. Do not cut the grass three days before treatment, and avoid mowing for at least four days after application.
Where to Use
Westland Lawn Sand² is designed for established lawns only. It should not be applied to newly sown lawns or newly laid turf until it has been established for at least 12 months. Apply it to lawns suffering from moss infestations, and be mindful to avoid contacting neighbouring plants or foliage, as the granules can cause damage. If the product comes into contact with hard surfaces like paving, tiles, or decking, brush it off immediately to prevent staining.
How to Use

Mark out areas to be treated and evenly sprinkle the product at a rate of 80 grams per square metre. Wear gloves to protect your hands during application.

Mark out areas to be treated and apply the product evenly using a calibrated spreader at a rate of 80 grams per square metre. Ensure the spreader is set correctly to prevent over-application. If no rain occurs within 48 hours of treatment, water the lawn to activate the product.
