Effective Protection Against Crawling Pests
Growing Success Glue Bands provide a pesticide-free solution to prevent female moths, ants, and other crawling insects from climbing fruit trees and laying eggs. By forming a sticky barrier, they help reduce caterpillar infestations and protect young leaves and fruit.

Why Use Growing Success Glue Bands?
Female winter moths cannot fly and must crawl up tree trunks to lay eggs. These eggs hatch into caterpillars that feed on new leaves and fruit in spring. Ants also climb trees to farm aphids, protecting them from natural predators. Growing Success Glue Bands form an effective barrier to stop both of these issues. The non-drying adhesive coating traps pests while the green color prevents attraction to beneficial insects. This pesticide-free solution is suitable for organic gardening and provides long-lasting protection.

Where to Use
Growing Success Glue Bands are ideal for fruit trees and ornamental trees. The band should be applied around the trunk and any supporting stakes to ensure complete protection. It works by preventing wingless female moths, ants, and other crawling insects from reaching the branches where they can cause damage.

How to Use
Apply the glue band in early autumn and keep it in place until the following spring. To protect against ants, earwigs, and other crawling pests, reapply between May and August. The band should be positioned around the tree trunk below the lowest branch, approximately 50-80cm above the ground. If the tree has a supporting stake, it is essential to band the stake as well to prevent pests from bypassing the barrier.

Before applying, remove any moss or lichen from the trunk. Cut a length of glue band long enough to wrap around the tree with at least a 1cm overlap. Unfold the band and wrap it around the trunk with the adhesive side facing outward. The glue on the overlap will hold the band in place, but for additional security, tie the band above and below the glue area. Regularly check the band and ensure that debris does not stick to it, as this may create a bridge for insects to cross.

General Advice
The glue band is extremely sticky, so wearing disposable gloves is recommended when handling. If glue gets on the skin, remove it with surgical spirit or liquid paraffin, then wash hands thoroughly and apply moisturizer.

Eco-Friendly & Safe for Organic Gardening
Growing Success Glue Bands are pesticide-free, making them a safe choice for organic gardens. They effectively target harmful pests while not attracting or harming beneficial insects such as ladybirds and lacewings.
