Encourage Strong Roots and Healthy Plant Growth Naturally
Westland Bone Meal Natural Root Builder 1.5kg is a naturally sourced plant feed designed to support strong root development and steady, healthy growth. This traditional formula contains nitrogen to promote green foliage, phosphorus to encourage stronger, deeper roots and calcium to help maintain overall plant strength. With its slow and efficient nutrient release, bone meal feeds plants over time while improving soil fertility.
Ideal for use across the garden, this versatile feed is perfect for trees, shrubs, roses, hedges and root vegetables. Its compact 1.5kg size makes it particularly suitable for smaller gardens, containers or targeted feeding, while still delivering reliable results throughout the growing season.
Key Features
Westland Bone Meal provides up to five weeks of nutrient release, ensuring consistent feeding where plants need it most. It is rich in essential nutrients and can be used both as a plant feed and a soil improver. The formula promotes strong, healthy root systems and supports greener, more vigorous foliage across a wide range of garden plants.
Why Use?
This natural root builder is ideal for gardeners looking to strengthen plant foundations and improve soil condition. Strong roots help plants absorb water and nutrients more effectively, leading to healthier growth above ground. Westland Bone Meal is particularly beneficial when planting new trees and shrubs, as well as maintaining established plants and encouraging successful root vegetable crops.
What to Expect
With regular application, plants develop improved root structure and show better overall vigour. Foliage becomes healthier and greener, while soil fertility improves gradually, supporting sustained growth throughout the season.
When to Use
Apply Westland Bone Meal every 4 to 6 weeks from February until the end of October to maintain soil fertility and support continuous plant growth.
How to Use
Apply as a top dressing by sprinkling evenly over the soil surface or as a base dressing by working into the soil with a spade or hoe. For young plants, dig into the planting hole using two handfuls, approximately 70g. For established plants, sprinkle around the base and water in using four to five handfuls per square metre, around 140–175g. As a soil improver, fork into the soil at a rate of three to four handfuls per square metre, approximately 105–140g. Water before and after application during dry weather.
Safety Information
Always read the product label before use and refer to the Safety Data Sheet for full details. Do not exceed the recommended application rates, as overuse may damage plants. Store in a dry, frost-free place away from children, pets and food. Wash hands and exposed skin after use and wear gloves when handling. Treated land should not be used for grazing or feed cropping within two months for pigs and three weeks for other farmed animals. Children and pets can continue to use treated areas immediately after application, but mix well into the soil to prevent dogs from being attracted to the product.
