The Dahlia Tartan is a striking dinner plate variety with wine red flowers accented by white tips and edges. It blooms all summer long and grows up to 100 cm (40 inches) tall.

Planting Depth: Plant tubers 15 cm (6 inches) deep, spaced 90 cm (36 inches) apart, starting from March onwards.

Uses: Ideal for borders and bedding, this variety also makes excellent cut flowers. Shorter varieties can be grown in containers on patios or balconies, providing vibrant color in any space.

Planting Tips: Dahlias prefer well-cultivated garden soil rich in organic matter. They thrive in sunny spots away from strong winds. For early flowering, start tubers indoors in April using light, compost-enriched soil. Keep them slightly moist, cool, and frost-free until it's safe to plant them outside. If using as a cut flower, only cut blooms when they are fully developed for the best results.
