Improve Soil Health and Boost Plant Growth
Westland Garden Lime Soil Conditioner 4kg is a premium soil amendment designed to reduce soil acidity and improve the uptake of essential nutrients. This product helps to unlock nutrients in the soil, supporting healthier plants with stronger growth, better flowering, and more bountiful crops. It is especially useful for soils that have become too acidic, which can prevent plants from absorbing key nutrients. Garden Lime is also an excellent source of calcium, promoting robust root systems and improved plant health.
Key Features
Westland Garden Lime reduces soil acidity, enabling plants to absorb nutrients more effectively. This leads to healthier, more vibrant plants with stronger root systems and better foliage. The product is also rich in calcium and magnesium, essential nutrients that promote disease resistance, stronger stems, and overall plant vitality. Additionally, it helps break down heavy soils, improving root growth and the overall structure of the soil.
Why Use?
Westland Garden Lime is a ready-to-use granule that adjusts the pH level of the soil, making it more suitable for plant growth. By reducing soil acidity, it improves the availability of nutrients, ensuring plants receive what they need to thrive. It also provides essential calcium, which strengthens cell walls and improves disease resistance, leading to stronger plants. This product is ideal for a wide range of plants including flowers, fruits, vegetables, trees, and shrubs.
What to Expect
Using Garden Lime helps adjust the soil's pH, leading to healthier plants with more vibrant flowers and better yields. Over time, you’ll notice improved root development, increased plant resilience, and greener, more abundant foliage. This conditioner also promotes optimal soil conditions, allowing plants to thrive with reduced stress from poor soil quality.
When to Use
Garden Lime can be applied throughout the year, but for best results, use it in the autumn before the first frosts. This will give the soil time to adjust and allow plants to benefit from the improved conditions as they enter the growing season. For normal soils, apply every two to three years, but highly acidic soils may require annual application to maintain an optimal pH balance.
How to Use
For best results, we recommend performing a soil pH test before applying Garden Lime.
For young plants, use 1 handful (35g) per square meter and mix it into the planting hole.
For established plants, apply 2 handfuls (70g) per square meter around the base of the plant and water in well.
For soil improvement, apply 2 handfuls (70g) per square meter and fork into the soil.
Take care not to apply the product around lime-hating plants such as ericaceous plants (e.g., rhododendrons, azaleas) or certain vegetables.
General Advice
Do not exceed the recommended application rate, as overuse may cause damage to plants. Apply the product evenly around plants and avoid direct contact with plant stems or foliage. It is essential to store the product in a dry, frost-free location, away from children, pets, and foodstuffs. After using the product, be sure to wash your hands and any exposed skin thoroughly. Gloves are recommended when handling the product to ensure safety.
Safety Information
Always read the product label before use. For full safety information, refer to the product Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Do not apply around ericaceous plants or vegetables. Children and pets can resume using treated areas immediately after application, provided the product has been well mixed with the soil.
