Allium Red Mohican
Allium Red Mohican is a truly distinctive ornamental onion producing deep burgundy-purple flower heads topped with an unusual tuft of sterile florets that create its characteristic "Mohican" appearance. Flowering during July and reaching approximately 100cm in height, this striking variety provides bold architectural interest when many other alliums have finished. Its rich colour and unique form make it an outstanding feature in borders, prairie-style planting and contemporary gardens.
Thriving in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil, Allium Red Mohican is a hardy perennial bulb that attracts bees, butterflies and other pollinators throughout summer. Its long-lasting blooms and unusual seed heads also make excellent additions to fresh and dried flower arrangements.
