Begonia Switzerland
€5.95
Begonia Switzerland is a striking flower bulb variety featuring scarlet red flowers that contrast beautifully with its almost black foliage. Blooming from July onwards, this elegant plant grows to a height of 20 cm (8 inches), making it ideal for flower beds, borders, containers on patios and balconies, and even as a houseplant.
To grow Begonia Switzerland, choose a semi-shaded spot with rich, moist, well-drained soil. While these begonias prefer partial shade, they will also bloom in full sun. Plant the bulbs on the surface of the soil with the tops exposed, spacing them 5 cm (2 inches) apart. Start planting in April when the risk of frost has passed.
For an earlier flowering display, place the tubers close together in trays filled with damp compost and sand. Maintain a temperature of 7-16ºC (45-60ºF) to encourage sprouting. Once all danger of frost has passed, transplant the tubers outdoors into their permanent growing positions.
Begonia Switzerland's vibrant scarlet blooms and dramatic foliage make it a standout addition to any indoor or outdoor display.
