Inspired by the simple pleasures of growing your own, the Hug Rug x Sally Swannell Vegetable Patch Mat captures the character of a traditional country garden in Sally Swannell’s distinctive illustrative style. The design takes inspiration from her grandmother’s vegetable garden and the childhood memories of playing, digging and watching plants develop while wildlife wandered through the patch.

Three flourishing vegetable plants climb rustic supports across the design, joined by a curious rabbit and blackbird amongst the greenery. The soft blue background, natural earthy shades and rich greens create a charming garden scene that feels equally at home beside an entrance door, in a kitchen, utility room or other busy living space.

Made in Britain as part of Hug Rug’s Aura collection, this 65 x 85cm mat is crafted from soft recycled nylon while retaining the practical performance needed for everyday use. It traps up to 95% of dirt, mud and moisture, helping to protect floors from the mess carried indoors on footwear.

The recycled rubber non-slip backing helps the mat remain securely in place, while its machine-washable and quick-drying construction makes regular cleaning straightforward. A matching Vegetable Patch Runner is also available for creating a coordinated look throughout the home.
