Begonia Odorata Sunny Dream from the Select by Taylor’s range is a beautifully compact and richly flowering summer bulb, loved for its soft fragrance and warm golden-yellow blooms. From July onwards, neat trailing plants become smothered in fully double, rose-like flowers that gently cascade over the edges of pots and hanging baskets. The cheerful colour brings a bright, sunny feel to patios and outdoor seating areas, while the lightly scented blooms add an extra sensory appeal. Carefully selected for fragrant hanging displays, this begonia combines charm, performance and reliability in Irish summer gardens.

Key Features
This begonia variety is chosen for its fragrant flowers and abundant flowering habit throughout the summer months. It produces compact, cascading growth that is perfect for smaller spaces and raised containers. Flowering from July onwards, it delivers long-lasting colour and interest. Well suited to Irish growing conditions, it performs best in sheltered positions with bright light or partial shade and requires minimal maintenance once established.

Size
Begonia Odorata Sunny Dream has a compact flowering height of approximately 18cm, or around 7 inches, with a naturally trailing habit ideal for hanging displays.

Useful For
Ideal for hanging baskets, patio containers, window boxes and raised planters, particularly close to seating areas where its gentle fragrance can be enjoyed.

Aftercare
Plant begonia tubers in spring after the risk of frost has passed, using fertile, well-drained compost in a sheltered position with bright, indirect light or partial shade. Water regularly throughout the growing season, avoiding waterlogged conditions. After flowering, allow foliage to die back naturally. Lift and store tubers over winter in a cool, dry, frost-free place for replanting the following year.
