Plant each shallot set with the tip just above the soil surface. Keep the growing area weed-free and water during prolonged dry spells to encourage healthy growth. Harvest once the foliage begins to yellow and die back naturally. Allow the bulbs to dry thoroughly in a warm, airy place before storing them in a cool, dry location where they will keep for many months.
