Herb Rocket Scorpion Rocket

€3.45
Rocket Scorpion from Thompson & Morgan is a striking and intensely flavoured variety of rocket, renowned for its fiery, peppery taste. This herb brings a sharp, mustard-like heat to any dish, making it the perfect addition to salads, sandwiches, wraps, and pizzas. With its dark green, deeply lobed leaves, Scorpion Rocket provides not only a flavour punch but also a visually appealing garnish for any culinary creation.

Unlike traditional rocket varieties, Scorpion is known for its robust flavour profile, making it ideal for those who enjoy a stronger taste. It's an excellent herb to spice up your meals, and with its fast-growing nature, you'll have a ready supply of fresh leaves throughout the growing season. This variety is especially suitable for growing in containers, raised beds, or traditional garden plots.

Sowing Instructions:
Sow Rocket Scorpion seeds directly outdoors from March to September. This herb thrives in cooler temperatures and will flourish in full sun or partial shade. Prepare the soil by ensuring it is well-drained and fertile. Sow the seeds thinly in shallow rows, about 1 cm deep, and space them around 15 cm apart. Keep the soil moist to aid germination, which typically takes 7-14 days.

For container growing, sow the seeds in pots filled with multi-purpose compost. Water thoroughly and ensure the pots are placed in a sunny spot to encourage rapid growth.

Growing Tips:
Once the seedlings have emerged, thin them out to about 15 cm apart to allow ample space for the leaves to grow. Scorpion Rocket prefers regular watering, so keep the soil evenly moist but avoid waterlogging. To keep plants productive, regularly harvest leaves, starting from the outermost ones, and remove any flower stems that may appear to prolong leaf production.

Harvesting:
You can begin harvesting Rocket Scorpion leaves as soon as the plants are large enough to handle, usually around 4-6 weeks after sowing. Pick the leaves when they are young and tender for the best flavour, and continue to harvest throughout the growing season to encourage new growth.

Herb Rocket Scorpion is perfect for gardeners looking for a rocket variety with an extra kick. Easy to grow and fast to mature, it’s a must-have for adding spice and zest to your garden and kitchen.
