Dahlia Bishop Of Leicester
€4.95
The Dahlia Bishop of Leicester features pink paeony-shaped flowers that are bee-friendly, blooming all summer long. It grows to a height of 90 cm (36 inches).
Planting depth: Plant tubers 15 cm (6 inches) deep, spaced 60 cm (24 inches) apart. Start planting in March onwards.
Uses: This dahlia is ideal for borders and bedding, and is also perfect for cut flowers. Shorter varieties can be grown in containers on the patio or balcony.
Expert Tip: Dahlias flourish in well-cultivated garden soil enriched with organic material and prefer sunny, sheltered sites. For earlier flowering, start tubers indoors in April using a light soil mixed with compost. Keep them moist, cool, and frost-free until it's safe to plant outdoors, after the danger of frost has passed. For cut flowers, trim only when fully bloomed.
