For earlier flowering, tubers can be started indoors in boxes during April using a light compost mix. Keep slightly moist, cool, and frost-free until planting out once all danger of frost has passed.

Aftercare
Water regularly during dry spells and remove spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming. Taller stems may benefit from staking. In autumn, lift tubers after the first frost and store in a cool, dry, frost-free place, or protect in the ground with a thick mulch in milder areas.
