It’s perfect for a wide range of culinary uses, from fresh salads to hearty soups and stews. With its vibrant green colour and robust texture, Green Rich F1 cabbage will enhance your homegrown vegetable patch and provide an abundant harvest.

This variety has been specifically bred for improved disease resistance, making it a great option for gardeners looking for a hardy cabbage that can thrive even in challenging conditions. Green Rich F1 is perfect for both spring and autumn sowings, ensuring a season-long harvest.

Sowing Instructions:
Sow Cabbage Green Rich F1 seeds indoors from February to March. Use small pots or seed trays filled with good-quality seed compost, planting the seeds 1 cm deep. Keep the seed trays in a warm, bright location at around 18-21°C for optimal germination, which typically occurs within 7-14 days. Once the seedlings are large enough to handle and have formed several true leaves, transplant them into larger pots or their final outdoor position.

For outdoor sowing, wait until the risk of frost has passed and the soil has warmed up, typically in April or early May. Transplant seedlings 35-40 cm apart in a sunny, well-drained area of the garden, ensuring they have ample space to grow.

Growing Tips:
Cabbage Green Rich F1 thrives in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter such as compost or well-rotted manure. Regular watering is essential to keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry spells, but avoid waterlogging. A balanced fertiliser applied during growth will encourage strong development and help to produce a healthy, high-quality crop.

Weeding around the base of the plants will help prevent competition for nutrients. Mulching around the plants can help to retain moisture, suppress weeds, and improve soil quality.

Harvesting:
Cabbage Green Rich F1 typically matures in 70-80 days from sowing. The heads will be firm and dense when ready for harvest. Cut the heads when they are fully formed but before they begin to split. For long-term storage, allow the heads to dry for a few hours in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area before storing them in a cool place.

With Cabbage Green Rich F1, you’ll enjoy a bountiful, delicious harvest that can be enjoyed in a variety of dishes. This variety’s excellent flavour, texture, and disease resistance make it a must-have for your vegetable garden.
