Bring a touch of elegance and texture to your garden with Kew Flower House Limonium Gmelinii, commonly known as Siberian Statice. This perennial flower is known for its clusters of papery, lavender-blue blooms that rise above its silvery-green foliage, creating a delicate yet striking display. The long-lasting flowers are perfect for cut flower arrangements, both fresh and dried, as they maintain their colour and shape long after being picked. Siberian Statice is ideal for flower beds, borders, and coastal gardens, where its unique, airy appearance and ability to withstand poor soils and dry conditions make it an excellent choice.

Sowing Instructions:
Sow Limonium Gmelinii seeds indoors in early spring, 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Fill seed trays or pots with a well-draining, seed compost, and lightly press the seeds into the surface, as they require light to germinate. Keep the compost moist but not waterlogged, and maintain a temperature of around 18-20°C for optimal germination, which usually occurs in 14-21 days. Once seedlings are large enough, harden them off and transplant them outdoors after the last frost to a sunny or partially shaded spot with well-drained soil. Space the plants about 30 cm apart to allow for their full growth.

This perennial grows to a height of 40-60 cm and produces an abundance of beautiful, lavender-blue flowers from mid-summer to autumn. Limonium Gmelinii thrives in full sun or partial shade, and it is exceptionally tolerant of dry, poor soils, making it an excellent choice for xeriscaping or low-maintenance gardens. Once established, it requires minimal care and will reward you with long-lasting, attractive blooms year after year. Kew Flower House Limonium Gmelinii (Siberian Statice) will add texture and beauty to your garden, while its everlasting flowers make it a favourite for dried flower enthusiasts.
