Full of woodland character, the Hug Rug x Sally Swannell Fox & Blackbird Mat captures a curious encounter between a fox and blackbird amongst wild grasses, daisies and flowering branches. Soft blues, natural greens and warm russet tones give the artwork a gentle country feel, finished with a neutral border that complements the illustrative design.

The Fox & Blackbird artwork is taken from Sally Swannell’s larger Old Potting Shed piece. Inspired by Frances Hodgson Burnett’s The Secret Garden, one of Sally’s favourite childhood books, the scene focuses on the fox’s inquisitive stance as it looks towards the blackbird perched amongst the branches.

Part of Hug Rug’s Aura collection, this 65 x 85cm indoor mat has a super-soft recycled nylon surface while remaining highly practical for everyday use. It traps up to 95% of dirt, mud and moisture, making it an excellent choice for entranceways, kitchens, utility rooms and other busy areas.

A recycled rubber non-slip backing helps the mat remain securely in place, while its machine-washable and quick-drying construction makes caring for it simple. A matching Fox & Blackbird Runner is also available for a coordinated look.
