Colchicum Waterlily - Autumn Flowering Crocus

€5.95

Colchicum Waterlily, commonly known as Autumn Flowering Crocus, is a spectacular autumn-flowering variety producing large fully double blooms in rich rosy-pink. Resembling elegant waterlilies, the luxurious flowers appear from September to November before the foliage emerges, bringing vibrant colour to the garden just as most summer flowers are fading. Reaching approximately 13cm in height, this award-winning variety is perfect for borders, rockeries, woodland gardens and containers.

Easy to grow and ideal for naturalising, Colchicum Waterlily thrives in well-drained soil where it will gradually form impressive clumps over the years. Its distinctive double flowers create a striking display beneath deciduous trees, in gravel gardens or planted among low-growing ground cover, providing valuable late-season interest with very little maintenance.

Aftercare
Allow the foliage, which appears after flowering, to die back naturally as it feeds the corm for the following year's display. Avoid removing the leaves until they have fully yellowed. Colchicums prefer to remain undisturbed and will gradually establish into larger clumps. Ensure the soil remains free draining throughout winter to maintain healthy corms.
