For earlier flowering, tubers can be started indoors in trays of damp compost and sand at 7–16°C, then planted outside once all risk of frost has passed.

Aftercare
Water regularly throughout the growing season, keeping the soil evenly moist. Remove spent flowers to encourage continued blooming. Lift tubers in autumn and store in a cool, dry, frost-free place for replanting the following year.
