The Orla Potato is an early maincrop variety with light yellow skin, prized for its excellent versatility in the kitchen. This variety is ideal for baking, chipping, boiling, salads, and roasting, making it a great all-rounder for any culinary use.

To grow Orla Potatoes, plant the seed potatoes in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic material. Choose a sunny position, and plant the seed potatoes about 10 cm (4 inches) deep and 30 cm (12 inches) apart, with rows spaced 60 cm (24 inches) apart. As the plants grow, earth up soil around the base to protect the developing tubers from light exposure and prevent greening. Ensure consistent watering, especially during dry spells, to support healthy growth.

Orla Potatoes are usually ready to harvest around 14–16 weeks after planting, once the foliage begins to yellow and die back. Carefully lift the tubers using a fork to avoid damaging them. Allow the potatoes to dry in a shaded area for a few hours before storing in a cool, dark, and dry location. With proper care, Orla Potatoes deliver an excellent yield and are a fantastic choice for home gardeners.
