Convallaria Majalis, commonly known as Lily of the Valley, is a fragrant perennial that features delicate, white bell-shaped flowers. These flowers are perfect for cut arrangements, and the plant is a recipient of the RHS Award. Blooming in May and June, this charming variety grows to just 15 cm (6 inches) tall, making it ideal for planting in shady areas or as ground cover.

Plant Lily of the Valley in humus-rich, moist soil, preferably in partial shade. It thrives in these conditions and is best planted in autumn or spring. Space bulbs approximately 5 cm (2 inches) apart, planting them to a depth of 10 cm (4 inches).

Lily of the Valley is perfect for naturalising in borders, wild gardens, and between shrubs or trees. It will spread quickly once established, so it is best suited for under-planting or for use in less prominent areas of the garden rather than in a prime position in the border.
