Pieris japonica Forest Flame
A small shrub which perks things up thanks to its burst of bright red new foliage in the spring (making a strong contrast with daffodils), which gradually turns pink, cream and then green. It also has spring flowers. Give a light prune after flowering to create an attractive shape, which also livens things up in winter. Plant in Sun or Half Shade in Peaty soil or in pots.
Grows to 1-2 metres. Trim to size required.
It has been given the Award of Garden Merit (AGM) by the Royal Horticultural Society.
