Ribes 'Jostaberry' - self fertile

Looks like a blackcurrant, tastes sweeter than a gooseberry! Very prolific, so the branches are weighed down by fruit so leave 2m between the plants or better still, train it up a wall. Excellent for pies, jelly making and preserves. Josta berry takes the looks of a gooseberry, removes the thorns, and makes it sweeter. It combines the vigorous growth and rich flavor of a black currant with disease resistance. Grows 1.5m high.
