Lovely cultivar first discovered growing in Western Tasmania in 1986, Eucryphia lucida 'Ballerina' has large (up to 3 cm across), pale pink flowers with eye-catching crimson stamen in late summer. These colourful flowers stand out well against the dark green, glossy leaves.

An unusual and handsome, evergreen flowering tree!
Grows best is sheltered gardens in neutral to slightly acid soil. Add plenty of peat to the soil. Grows 4-5m high x 2m wide Leatherwood makes a great tub plant and can be pruned to keep it in a compact shape.

When established E. lucida should require less water and can be pruned after each flowering season to keep it as a compact, bushy shrub that will produce more flowers in the next flowering season.
