Allium Schubertii
Allium Schubertii is one of the most spectacular ornamental onions, producing extraordinary starburst flower heads made up of dozens of individual lilac-purple florets on stems of varying lengths. Flowering from May to June and reaching approximately 50cm in height, this architectural variety creates a dramatic focal point in borders, gravel gardens and contemporary planting schemes. Its unique blooms remain highly decorative even after flowering, making excellent dried seed heads for long-lasting garden interest.
Thriving in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil, Allium Schubertii is a hardy perennial bulb that attracts bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Its striking flowers are also highly valued for fresh and dried floral arrangements, adding an eye-catching sculptural element both indoors and outdoors.
